Kentucky State Police accepting applications for CVE officers FRANKFORT, KY -The Kentucky State Police is currently accepting applications for the position of Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Officer I. Applicants must be 21 years of age, a U.S. citizen, in good health and possess a valid driver's license. They must also meet at least one of the following standards: 1.) Minimum of 54 college semester hours, 2.) High school diploma with at least two years of active military duty, 3.) Two years of experience as a full-time, sworn law enforcement officer or 4.) Two years of experience as a commercial vehicle inspector under the North American Standard requirement. Current law enforcement officers who are POPS certified (Peace Officer Professional Standards) can enter field training after successful completion of a three-week Commercial Vehicle Safety Regulation course. Interested applicants should visit the Kentucky State Police website for more information and to download an application. Go to www.kentuckystatepolice.org and click on Career Opportunities, CVE Officer. Qualified applicants will be scheduled for a Physical Standards Test in January 2012.
