She was a member of a large, respected Adair County family. She was retired from Union Underwear following a 27 year career there.

Voyce Burris, 85, of the Gradyville community, died Saturday, Nov. 5, 2011 at 2:20am at the Taylor Regional Hospital in Campbellsville, KY.

Funeral services will be Monday, November 7, 2011 at 11amCT at Grissom-Martin Funeral Home, 200 Campbellsville Street, Columbia, KY, with Bro. Bobby Withers officiating. Burial in Haven Hill Cemetery, 1276 Liberty Road, Columbia, KY. Visitation after 4pmCT, Sunday, November 6, 2011.



Casket Bearers: Harold Shirley, Larry Shirley, Joseph Smith, Mike Burris, Danny Burris, Steve Reece.

Voyce Burris, 85, of the Gradyville community, died Saturday, Nov. 5, 2011 at 2:20am at the Taylor Regional Hospital in Campbellsville, KY.

She was born September 2, 1926, in Adair County, KY. She was the daughter of the late Dewey and Zada Moss Shirley. She died Saturday, November 5, 2011, in Campbellsville, Taylor County, KY, at the age of 85 years, 2 months, and 3 days.

She was retired from Union Underwear after 27 years.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, David Burris, three brothers & two sisters; Glen, Ernest and Wayne Shirley, Beatrice Brock, Edith PhillipsSurvivors include the following:
  • Her husband of 66 years: Clavis "Short" Burris of Gradyville, KY

  • One daughter: Marie (Michael) Lemmon of Columbia, KY

  • One son: Donnie (Darla) Burris of Gradyville, KY

  • Grandchildren: Shane Garmon, Keisha Skaggs and Lori Adams

  • Great grandchildren: Trey and Tanner Garmon, Lilly Adams and Kegan Skaggs

  • A daughter in law: Lana Burris of Gradyville, KY

  • One brother: Charles (Carol) Shirley of Cane Valley, KY

  • Three grandchildren

  • Four great grandchildren
