Bobby Wayne was more than in-law; he was like a real brother A story of Family. "Since I was 12 years old Bobby Wayne was in our life. He was a great friend, brother-in-law and he was family to the Wood Clan. He was kind, giving and caring. He was an avid reader and I was very impressed with that, since I almost always had a book in my hand reading.' June Elaine Wood King writes. His inclusion in the Wood famiy grew during his marriage to Frieda Wood, and was sustained through her death, and was strengthened when Bobby Wayne brought his new wife into the family. The Family About: Bobby Wayne Willis, Adair County, KY (1938-2011) By June Elaine Wood King I can not let this opportunity pass without saying that Bobby Wayne was a Great Friend, brother-in-law (more like a real bonafide brother) to the Oscar and Willa Wood family. Bobby married my sister Freida in the late 1950's. Such a lovely wedding the likes that we were so proud of. We were a farming family in rural, Adair County, Casey Creek area and attended the Mt. Zion Church of God Church where that wedding took place. Bobby and Freida were so close to us all, they came almost every Sunday to see us and when they didn't come we were all sad because they brought so much to Sunday afternoon. Since I was 12 years old Bobby Wayne was in our life. He was a great friend, brother-in-law and he was family to the Wood Clan. He was kind, giving and caring. He was an avid reader and I was very impressed with that, since I almost always had a book in my hand reading. Bobby was very good to all my family; to me and to Ralph Sneed, my first husband and father of my son, Mark Todd Sneed. Gosh, he could EAT! My dad used to say that I could eat as much as Bobby Wayne. He said that we ate so much "It made us poor to carry it"! There were trips to Lake Cumberland boating, picnicking and just hanging out at their home. Even after Freida died of Ovarian cancer in 1984 and Bobby married Edie Egbert, we remained close and family. After my 2nd marriage to Gene King we remained very close, laughing, joking, having fun and going on family trips to Michigan and NC. It is so hard to see brother pass even though we know that he has gone on to be with our Lord. I would just like to Thank you Bobby Wayne and Edie for what you have meant to me and my family. Respectfully! June Elaine Wood King 4th Daughter of Oscar & Willa Wood 8428 Maria Court Cape Canaveral, FL. 32920 This story was posted on 2011-11-01 13:13:37
