John McFarland, Adair County, KY (1951-2011)

He was a member of a large, respected Adair County family. He attended Pleasant Grove Separate Baptist Church and was a timber cutter

John "Johnny" McFarland age 60 years of Sulphur Creek Road, Columbia,KY passed away Sunday October 30, 2011 at 7:48amCT, at his home.

Graveside service will be Tuesday, November 1, 2011 at 11amCT at the Adkins Cemetery on Sulphur Creek Road, Columbia, KY with burial to follow. Visitation is after 8:30amCT Tuesday, November 1, 2011, at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, 210 Greensburg Street, Columbia, KY.



John McFarland, Adair County, KY (1951-2011)

He was born on Thursday, June 11, 1951 in Casey County, KY. He was the son of the late Woodrow and Edith Withington McFarland ofCasey County. He died Sunday, October 30, 2011, in Columbia, Adair County, KY, at the age of 60 years, 4 months, and 19 days.

He is survived by his wife Alice Ruth Rooks McFarland of Columbia, KY, and the following:
  • Three daughters: Angela Emberton of Indiana; Angie Johnson of Cumberland, Maryland; and Lisa Cassada of Russell Springs, KY

  • One son: Johnny Dwight McFarland of Russell Springs, KY

  • One step-son: Allen Foster of Columbia, KY

  • Three brothers: Jr. McFarland of Liberty, KY; Ernie McFarland of Florida and Michael McFarland of Liberty, KY

  • Five sisters: Louise Smith of Edinburgh, IN; Helen Caudill, and Phyllis Cooper, Eva Johnson and Pam Burton all of Liberty, KY

  • Four granddaughters

  • One grandson

  • Several nieces and nephews

  • And a host of other relatives and friends
He was preceded in death by one sister Bernice McFarland.

He attended the Pleasant Grove Separate Baptist Church in Casey County. He was a farmer and timber cutter.

Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home in charge of funeral arrangements .
