Update on Chuck Hinman from his son Paul

Chuck Hinman's daily outing made special by chance encounter with old friend, Lanky

From Paul Hinman, Chuck's Son

Good Morning to all of you,

I wanted to let everyone know that my Dad is about the same but more importantly, of an incident of joyful news that Dad experienced just a few days ago.

A nurse takes Dad outside for fresh air and some exercise everyday. Perhaps you may have received a story about a cat named Lanky who is owned by a resident there at Tallgrass Estates where Dad lives. One day last week as the nurse and Dad were about to exit the building Dad said to the nurse, "Is that Lanky over there?" Lanky was quite a distance from them and the nurse replied joyfully, "Yes Chuck, that is Lanky."

They stopped once they got closer to Lanky and Dad got to pet Lanky and it made his day! So in short, Dad can see some things and he is being encouraged by me and the caregivers to vocalize anything that he can see.

In eleven days we have our appointment with the neurologist and then a follow-up appointment with his primary care doctor. I thank all of you for your continued prayers for Dad's comfort and your prayers for those of us as caregivers. As time permits for me, I will update all of you as we know more.

God bless all of you!!
