Likes blue sky courthouse photos best

Tami Wilson writes:
Just wanted to say that if I were going to do a postcard of the courthouse, I'd wait until the trees grew out and looked more natural. I don't know anything about pruning trees- I guess I trust the arborists for that, but I'm not a fan of the chopped-off look. I also think the courthouse looks a bit nicer against a deep blue sky.

My personal favorite pic (or one of them) is the one by Pen (I believe) taken at night. The sky was sapphire blue and the courthouse was beautiful against it. Just one more opinion. -TAMI WIlSON
Thanks, Tami. Couldn't agree more on the blue skies courthouse photo, and Pen has taken some beautiful ones; and George Kolbenschlag and many others have taken dozens of prettier courthouse scenes. I think the write was simply talking about how much of the courthouse could be comprehended in that barely adequate point-and-shoot picture. As for the trees, I'm all for more of them, but I don't see any reason for allowing large ones so close. It would be great if part of the unnecessary pavement were surrendered to a park like setting with shade trees and benches. The Square would be safer, cooler, and much more inviting if it were less like the Indianapolis Motor Speedway and more like Frederick Law Olmstead's Louisville, KY parkways. -EW
