Beatrice Wise Elsbury, Taylor Co., KY (1919-2011)

She was the matriarch of a large, respected Taylor Co., KY family. She was a retired employee of Fruit of the Loom and was a member of the Mannsville Christian Church

Beatrice Wise Elsbury, 92, of Campbellsville, KY died at 6:55pmET, Monday, October 17, 2011 in Campbellsville, KY

Funeral services will be at 4pmET/3pmCT, Thursday, October 20, 2011, at the Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home, 418 Lebanon Avenue, Campbellsville, KY by Rev. Larry Frisby and Pastor Jimmie Knifley. Burial will be in Brookside Cemetery, W. Main Street, Campbellsville, KY.


Pallbearers: Danny Rakes, Adarian Shively, Chad Shively, Jim Wise, Josh Wise, and Michael Todd Wise.

Beatrice Wise Elsbury, Taylor Co., KY (1919-2011)

Beatrice Wise Elsbury, was the daughter of the late Ernest Gill and Lizzie Sapp Gill. She was born in Taylor County, Kentucky, Monday, February 4, 1919. She died, Monday, October 17, 2011 in Campbellsville., Taylor Co., KY, at the age of 92 years, 8 months, and 13 days.

She professed faith in Christ and was a member of the Mannsville Christian Church.



She was a retired employee of Fruit of the Loom in Campbellsville, KY.

She united in marriage to Ed Wise October 9, 1943. He preceded her in death May 23, 1987. She united in marriage to Lawrence E. Elsbury December 10, 1993. He preceded her in death August 19, 2003.

She is survived by the following:
  • One son and two daughters: Roger Wise and Sherry Shively and husband, Paul, all of Campbellsville, KY; and Jo Ann Ewing and husband, Larry of Dry Ridge

  • One step-son: Jim Elsbury of Wisconsin

  • Eighteen grandchildren

  • Thirty-three great-grandchildren

  • Twenty great great grandchildren

  • Several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.

  • She was preceded in death by two sons: Buddy Wise September 28, 1990 and Donald Edward Wise December 20, 1990 and a brother, Troy Gill.

    The Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home, 418 Lebanon Avenue, Campbellsville, KY in charge of arrangements.
