Frank Dickerson blames blooming aberrations on That Sinkhole Comments re article 47672 Lillian Meyer reports lilacs in her neighborhood blooming tooFrank Dickerson writes: Re: October bloomers. Thanks, Frank Dickerson An interesting, albeit surprising, surmission. You did not say which sinkhole, but I'd assume you're talking about the Billy Joe Fudge sinkhole which has been in the news so much recently. I do pray you are not resurrecting memories of the Bud Mullins' Sinkhole and its monstrous inhabitant the ogre, Bud Mullins, who frightened little children in the Greater Bliss Community not so many decades ago. So far, we ourselves have kept the wraps on that ogre, especially since it is Fall, since we don't want to frighten happy shoppers away the Holladay Place, and because it is nearly Halloween. It would be a shame to bring Bud Mullins' Sinkhole up even if the jury is still out on whether the international furore subsequent to a full disclosure would do more to help or hinder the arrival of the Canadian Tour Buses on which our New Economy so depends. I really do hope you're talking about the more benign Billy Joe Fudge sinkhole. -EW This story was posted on 2011-10-19 18:57:42
