By Dan White< LOUISVILLE, KY - Coming off finishing fifth in the Mid-South Conference men's basketball standings in 2010-11, Lindsey Wilson College has been voted sixth in the 2011-12 Preseason Coaches' Poll released Tuesday by conference officials. Last season's NAIA National Champions the University of Pikeville (KY) and defending MSC Regular-Season and Tournament Champions Georgetown (KY) College sit atop the poll, sharing first place with 58 points each. The Bears received five of the nine available first-place votes, while the Tigers received two and St. Catharine (KY) College, picked to finish third, earned the final two votes. Sitting in front of Lindsey Wilson are Campbellsville (K&) University at No. 4 with 40 points and University of the Cumberlands (KY) with 38. The Blue Raiders tallied 32 points in the poll to take sixth place. Rounding out the bottom of the coaches' preseason ratings are the University of Virginia's College at Wise at No. 7 with 18 points, followed by Shawnee State (Ohio) University with 16 points and the University of Rio Grande (Ohio) closing the poll at No. 9 with 11 points. The NAIA's preseason ratings will not be released until Oct. 24. After jumping out of the gate to an 8-1 start least season, the Blue Raiders finished the season with a 19-11 overall record and 10-8 mark in the MSC, including a road win at eventual national champion Pikeville and upset of eighth ranked Georgetown at home. Lindsey Wilson's top three scorers from that team return for the 2011-12 season, including junior guard Kalen Kimberland (12.4 points per game), senior guard Chase Spreen (10.7 ppg) and senior forward Charles Baker (9.2 ppg). Also returning for the Blue Raiders are senior guard Justin Archie who finishes last season averaging 8.3 points per game, 4.1 rebounds and dished out a team-high 117 assists. Sophomore guard Chase Cox returns as an outside threat after knocking down 37 3-pointers last season at 37.4 percent. Help on the inside comes from a trio of newcomers in 6-7 junior forward Josh White out of Mt.
