Margaret Downs was a very special woman Kim Downs writes: That town mother mentioned in your article today is my husband's grandmother, Margaret Downs. She worked at Ben Franklin's from the mid 50's until it closed in the 70's. She is the mother of Mike Downs, grandmother of Chris and Josh Downs and the great grandmother of Easton, Grayson, and McKenna Downs ,all of Columbia. We are the only Downs family in Columbia.
