We also wholeheartedly endorse the Crusade for Children and Kosair Charities. By Dana King The annual Ronald McDonald House drive is coming up on October 20, 2011. I will share a little bit of our story and why we believe in supporting this worthy cause. On July 18, 2008, our twin boys, Kolt and Cooper, came into this world 7 1/2 weeks early. They were very sick and sent to Kosair Childrens Hospital shortly after birth. Our lives were turned upside down. The Ronald McDonald House was such a blessing for our family. My husband and mom followed the ambulance to Louisville and only had the clothes on their backs when they arrived. The RMH gave them a room and all the neccessities they needed. I arrived in Louisville a couple days later after being released from TJ Samson. The RMH was close to the hospital and I could walk over to see my boys. Each night a different group would cook a home cooked meal for the families at the RMH. It was such a wonderful place to stay and share with other families who were going through the same thing. Kolt was released from the hospital in 17 days and we took him to the RMH until Cooper was released a month later. The RMH provided us with a conveinent affordable place to stay. We were able to focus on our boys and not worry about where we were going to stay or what we were going to eat. They took care of us so we could take care of our boys. I am glad to say our boys are now 3 years old and doing great. They are our little miracles and we thank God for them. Please join us in supporting the Ronald McDonald House drive. -STEVE, DANA, KOLT & COOPER KING This story was posted on 2011-10-16 05:24:47
