By George Kolbenschlag

We are just back from a trip to Colorado and Utah to visit with son George and his family in Salt Lake City and son Peter in Paonia, Colorado. We hit the peak of both the cottonwoods and aspen in both states. The color was unusually spectacular because both peaked at the same time. There are four photos accompanying. They were all taken in Colorado, on the Eastern slope of the Rockies southeast of Grand Junction on the McLure pass (Highway 133) between Paonia and Carbondale and on the Hebler pass between Paonia and Crested Butte. - GEORGE KOLBENSCHLAG
If you go: According to Google Maps, McClure Pass is 1,395 miles, a 24 hour drive, west of Grider Hill Pass, Columbia, KY.
