Driver of small vehicle - only - injured in car/school bus collision

From Campbellsville Police Department

The driver of a 1992 Honda Civic was treated at the scene, but none of the occupants of a 2002 Campbellsville Independent School Bus were injured in a 3:14pmET, Thursday, afternoon, October 12, 2011 collision at the intersection of South Central and Tie Street in Campbellsville, KY. Courtney Giles, Knifley, KY, the driver of the passenger car, was later transported by private vehicle to the Taylor Regional Hospital in Campbellsville.

Narrative: A 2002 Campbellsville Independent School Bus being operated by 50 year old Tony Houston was attempting to make a right hand turn from S. Central Avenue onto Tie St. A 1992 Honda Civic being operated by 23 year-old Courtney Giles of Knifley was traveling North on S. Central Ave. Giles attempted to stop but was unable to. Giles struck the bus in the passenger side. Giles was treated at the scene by Campbellsville - Taylor County EMS and later transported to Taylor Regional Hospital by private vehicle. Neither Houston nor the children were injured.

Agencies Involved: Campbellsville Police, Campbellsville Fire/Rescue, and Campbellsville -Taylor County EMS.
