Gov. Beshear to be in Columbia, KY Thursday, Oct. 20, at noon

Polls show Governor Beshear holds wide lead over challenger, but show somewhat tighter race between Senate President David Williams and Independent Gatewood Galbraith for second place
Election is only 26 days away, with polls open 6am-6pm on Tuesday, November 8, 2011

Kentucky Governor Steve Beshear will be in Columbia, KY Thursday, October 20, 2011, at 12 pm noon CT, for what is officially billed as a fundraiser, at the Adair County Fairgrounds Pavilion, 415 Fairground Street, hosted by the Adair County Democratic Party, according to party spokesperson Victoria Pike.

The apparent success of the Governor's campaign, at this point, has made fundraising slightly more difficult.

The Governor Steve Beshear holds an almost 2-1 lead in the polls over closest challenger David Williams.

The tighter race, according to polls, at this point, is for second place, between Williams and Gatewood Galbraith, according to the latest average polling data at RealClear Politics Poll/Beshear (54.3%), Williams (28%) Galbraith (8%) on 2011/10/12

The first debate, held last night on KET, seemed to do little to change the ho-hum perception of the race, according to a WFPL review, at the following link: Gubernatorial Debate Offers Few Surprises
