10 Year Anniversary Celebration: Greater Campbellsville United Greater Campbellsville United, working with representatives of Taylor and Green Counties, and now Adair, has achieved major breakthroughs in its goal to encourage diversity across all cultures living in South Central Kentucky. By Linda Waggener for Greater Campbellsville United A ten-year anniversary celebration to share the message of equality and opportunity is scheduled for Thursday, October 13, 2011 from 5pm - 7:30pmCT, by the organization Greater Campbellsville United. The event will be held at the Taylor County Extension Office, 1143 South Columbia Avenue, Campbellsville, KY. Greater Campbellsville United is a non-profit organization that accepts, acknowledges, respects and encourages diversity across all cultures. GCU promotes equal opportunity, equity, and positive relationships among all racial, ethnic, socioeconomic, religious, gender, and political entities in this community and throughout the region. GCU seeks to encourage development of new businesses, housing, and community programs throughout the minority community. GCU works with local government, school systems, community groups, and state and federal programs to bridge the gaps and break barriers that inhibit growth in the minority community. GCU board members inviting the public to join them include: John Chowning, vice president for church and external relations and executive assistant to the president at Campbellsville University; GCU Director Wanda Washington, William Herndon, Yvette Haskins, Carolyn Compton, Linda Waggener, Brenda Allen, James Washington and Taylor County Judge Executive Eddie Rogers.
