Gary Ramsey, Taylor Co., KY (1947-2011)

He was a retired respiratory therapist for 37 years and a minister for 15 years. He served his country honorably in the United States Air Force and was a veteran of the Vietnam War. He professed faith in Christ and was a member of the Church of God of Prophesy.

Gary Ramsey, 64, of Campbellsville, KY died at 11pmET, Saturday, September 24, 2011 in Campbellsville, KY.

Funeral services will be at 11amET/10amCT, Thursday, September 29, 2011, at the First Baptist Church, 709 Main Street, Sonora, KY, by Bro. Jimmy Hunt and Bro. Tony Carson. Burial will be in Sonora Cemetery with Full military honors by the American Legion Post 113 Honor Guard.



Gary Ramsey, Taylor Co., KY (1947-2011)

Gary Ramsey of Campbellsville was the son of the late Sam Ramsey and Lettie Williams Ramsey. He was born in Hardin County, Kentucky, Sunday, April 6, 1947. He died Saturday, September 24, 2011 in Campbellsville, Taylor Co., KY, at the age of 64 years, 5 months, and 18 days.

He was a retired respiratory therapist for thirty-seven years and a minister forfifteen years. He served his country honorably in the United States Air Force and was a veteranof the Vietnam War.

He professed faith in Christ and was a member of the Church of God of Prophesy.He united in marriage to Bambi Matthews April 5, 2000.

Besides his wife, Bambi Ramsey, he is survived by the following:
  • Two sons and two daughters: Austin Ramsey of Campbellsville, KY; Richard Ramsey and wife, Kim of Somerset, KY; Christie McKinney and husband, Michael of Lawrenceburg, KY' and Renee Odumand husband, Dwayne of Norcross, Georgia

  • Eleven grandchildren

  • Four brothers and one sister: James Ramsey of Hodgenville, KY; Jackie Ramsey, Randall Ramsey: and Jerry Ramsey of Sonora, KY; and Madeline Grieb of Louisville, KY

  • Many nieces and nephews and several other relatives and friends
He was preceded in death by three brothers and four sisters: Russell Ramsey, Donald Ramsey, Chester Ramsey, Frances Ramsey, Martha Ireland, Betty Priddy, and Rudell Klinglesmith.The Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home, 418 Lebanon Avenue, Campbellsville, KY, in charge of arrangements.
