Clandestine history sleuth/CM operative dates Alhambra photo

Ancient adage say, time to second hidden in picture clues. - CHARLIE CHENG
Detailed analysis of Larry Smith reveal time almost to second. - CHARLIE CHENG, code name for Anon, history sleuth

Anon writes:
The Alhambra calendar shown was for January, 1938. The day and date combinations shown didn't appear again until 1944.

Of the fifteen movies with legible titles, all but three were released between late September and mid-December, 1937.

Among the other three, Rustlers' Valley and The Californian were released in July, 1937, and Handy Andy (starring Will Rogers) was a golden oldie, having been released in the summer of 1934. (The two movies with illegible titles are second from left, third row, and third from left, fourth row.)

"Conquest," starring Greta Garbo and Charles Boyer, cost a then-staggering three million dollars to make and earned the dubious distinction as the biggest money loser of 1937. - Anon
