Adair Girls' Golf finished 4th out of 11 teams in the Lady Raider Invitational on Saturday, September 10, 2011 in Bowling Green, KY at Paul Walker Golf Course, 1044 Covington ST, Bowling Green, KY. MAP

After a week of rain and cancellations (Clinton at Dale Hollow & Green Co. at Green) the girls' golf team came out on Saturday with a team best tournament score of 365. We haven't scored that well since 2009 when we had a 359 in the Kentucky Invitation Tournament (KIT).

We talked about going to the tournament with a good attitude and just trying to enjoy the day.

Adair posted firsts for the team:
- Emilee Royse (89) and Rachel Phipps (88) shot their personal best in tournament play.
- Jessica Simpson played in her first ever tournament shooting a 110.
Individual scoring: Abby Royse (102) improved her score by 11 strokes over last year. Ashley Goodin rounded out the scoring with an 86.Henderson Co. won the tournament shooting a 353, 2nd place Warren East 362, and 3rd place went to Madison - North Hopkins with a 363.

Coach's critique: I was really pleased with our effort Saturday. We started out kind of slow and as the day warmed up so did we. We seem to be playing better at a good time of the year. I hope we can keep it up. -COACH KIM GOODIN.
