MAP After a week of rain and cancellations (Clinton at Dale Hollow & Green Co. at Green) the girls' golf team came out on Saturday with a team best tournament score of 365. We haven't scored that well since 2009 when we had a 359 in the Kentucky Invitation Tournament (KIT). We talked about going to the tournament with a good attitude and just trying to enjoy the day. Adair posted firsts for the team: - Emilee Royse (89) and Rachel Phipps (88) shot their personal best in tournament play.Individual scoring: Abby Royse (102) improved her score by 11 strokes over last year. Ashley Goodin rounded out the scoring with an 86.Henderson Co. won the tournament shooting a 353, 2nd place Warren East 362, and 3rd place went to Madison - North Hopkins with a 363. Coach's critique: I was really pleased with our effort Saturday. We started out kind of slow and as the day warmed up so did we. We seem to be playing better at a good time of the year. I hope we can keep it up. -COACH KIM GOODIN. Next for the girls' golf team: Adair Co. HS girls golf hosts Clinton Co. HS at The Pines at Lindsey Wilson (MAP on Monday, September 12, 2011.
