Click on headline for complete story plus photo(s) By Kim Goodin News from Adair County High School Girls Golf Team Adair girls lost a tough one at Rosewood Golf Course in Marion County on Thursday, September 1, 2011, with Adair County losing by just two strokes. With the two stroke penalty that placed Adair in a tie with Marion shooting a 181. Going to a scorecard playoff using the lowest handicap hole on the front resulted in Adair losing by three strokes. Adair had 21 strokes on hole No. 3 and Marion 18. We will learn some valuable lessons from today. First of all, every stroke counts so we need to stay focused no matter what the situation. We had some good moments and some where we could have performed better. Ashley Goodin was definitely a bright spot firing a 2 under par 34. She was followed by Rachel Phipps with a 48, Emilee Royse 49, and Abby Royse 50. This puts Adair's record at 10-6 on the year. We have some tough matches and tough courses coming up. Next Adair County Girls Golf vs. Clinton Co. at Dale Hollow Dale Hollow Lake State Resort Park, 5970 State Park Road, Burkesville, KY 42717-9728. Tee time will be approximately 4pmCT, Tuesday, September 6, 2011. Dale Hollow will be the site for the 2012 Regional tournament. I'm glad we have a chance to get on the course this year. Hopefully, we will play well and build some confidence. This year's Regional Tournament is played at Indian Hills Country, Club, 200 Indian Hills DR, Bowling Green, KY 42103-1354Y on September 27, 2011. -Kim Goodin This story was posted on 2011-09-02 04:58:09
