Unemployment down in 6 of 7 area counties for year to year

The jobless picture looked somewhat better for the 7 county CM coverage area, with better year to year numbers for Green, Russell, Adair, Casey, Taylor, and Metcalfe Counties, with only Cumberland County showing higher July 2011 joblessness than for July 2011.

  1. Russell Co. unemployment, 9.3% July 2011 - Down from 9.7% Yr. Ago
  2. Adair Co. unemployment, 9.5% July 2011 - Down from 10.2% Yr. Ago
  3. Green Co. unemployment, 10.1% July 2011 - Down from 12.7% Yr. Ago
  4. Casey Co. unemployment, 10.2% July 2011 - Down from 11.0% Yr. Ago
  5. Taylor Co. unemployment,10.3% July 2011 - Down from 12.0 Yr. Ago
  6. Cumberland Co. unemployment 11.0% July 2011, Up from 9.9% Yr. Ago
  7. Metcalfe Co. unemployment 14.3% July 2011, Down from 15.8% Yr. Ago
- Comparable U.S. Rate for July 2011: 9.3%
- Comparable KY Rate for July 2011: 9.6%
- Comparable Lake Cumberland ADD Rate for July 2011: 10.6%
- Comparable Barren River ADD Rate for July 2011: 9.6%
