Adair Girls Golf team bounce back with a win over Metcalfe Individual Scoring: Guests, Madison Eisenberg 49, Kennedy Harbison, 60, for Metcalfe County HS. ADAIR INDIVIDUAL: Ashley Goodin with a 37, Rachel Phipps 47, Emilee Royse and Abby Royse shot 51, Jessica Simpson 62, Madison Bell 69, and Hailey Taylor 75 By Kim Goodin, Coach Adair Co. High School Girls Golf Team Special ColumbiaMagazine.com sports story, (c) as posted The Adair County High School girls bounced back with a win over Metcalfe Co at The Pines on Monday, August 29, 2011. Metcalfe County only has two golfers but Adair's No. 1 and No. 2 defeated their opponents. Metcalfe County's Madison Eisenberg shot a 49 and Kennedy Harbison shot a 60. Adair County was led by Ashley Goodin with a 37, Rachel Phipps 47, Emilee Royse and Abby Royse shot 51, Jessica Simpson 62, Madison Bell 69, and Hailey Taylor 75. Coach's Critique I was glad to get the win today. Metcalfe County is kind of in the same shape we were several years ago, just trying to get golfers to complete a team. Hailey Taylor played in her first ever golf match today and did well for a sixth grader. I think she has a lot of potential. Ashley made a good comeback for someone who hadn't played in several days due to illness. Rachel and Abby shot below their averages today. Emilee was disappointed in herself, but as a senior she is probably feeling more pressure to perform than the underclassman would. Our 8th graders Jessica and Madison are getting there, but it is a slow process. Golf is not an easy game. The win puts our record at 10-5 which we will take, considering we really haven't played our best complete round. If everybody can fire on all cylinders at the same time we can post a better score.
