Faye K. Rowe, Adair Co., KY (1918-2011)

She was the matriarch of a highly regarded Adair County family. She was an educator in the Adair County School System, retiring from Col. Wm. Casey Elementary School. She was a member of the Columbia Baptist Church, the Adair County Retired Teachers Association, and of the Town and County Homemakers Club.

Faye K. Rowe, 92, of Columbia, died Monday, August 29, 2011 at her residence.

Funeral service will be Wednesday, August 31, 2011 at 2pmCT, at Grissom-Martin Funeral Home, 200 Campbellsville ST, Columbia, KY, with Bro. Lewis Haynes, Bro. Hugh Withers and Bro. Dwayne Toppenberg. Visitation will be after 4pmCT, Tuesday, August 30, 2011. Burial will be in Haven Hill Cemetery, 1276 Liberty RD, Columbia, KY.Mrs. Rowe's Grandsons will serve as Casket Bearers



Faye K. Rowe, Adair Co., KY (1918-2011)

She was born Monday, September 9, 1918 in Harlan Co., KY. She was the daughter of the late Sine H. and Sallie Turner Kassem. She died Monday, August 29, 2011, in Columbia, Adair Co., KY, at the age of 92 years, 11 months, and 20 days.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Nathan Rowe in 1997, one brother, Billie Kassem, and one sister, Lucy Mullinix.

She was educator for the Adair County School System, retiring from Col. William Casey. She was a member of Columbia Baptist Church, the Adair County Retired Teachers Association and Town and Country Homemakers Club.

Survivors Include the following:
  • One son: Billy Rowe and wife Hanna of Columbia, KY

  • Two daughters: Linda Taylor and husband Wendell of Columbia, KY; and Carole Thomas and husband James of Columbia, KY

  • Sister-in-law: Regina Rowe of Columbia, KY

  • Nine grandchildren

  • Four step grandchildren

  • Nine great grandchildren

  • Two neces
  • Two nephews
In lieu of flowers, the family request expressions of sympathy be in the form of donation of Gideon Bibles. These may be left at the funeral home.
