ACHS Boy's Golf captures 5th in Barren Invitational Alex Durham leads with 78, 4th overall. Other Indian scores: Van Giles 82, Riley Grant 88, Daniel Rarey 89, and Jerrod Grider 96. INDIANS on home course today, Monday, August 29, 2011, tee off approximately 4pmCT, at The Pines at Lindsey Wilson, 275 Country Club RD, Columbia, KY By Steve Burton Coach, Adair County High School Boys Golf On Saturday afternoon, the boy's ACHS golf team traveled to Barren River State Park to compete in the 20 team Barren County Invitational. The Indians fired a team score of 337 to capture 5th place. Alex Durham led the way for the tribe with a round of 78, good enough for 4th place overall individually. Van Giles (82), Riley Grant (88), Daniel Rarey (89), and Jerrod Grider (96) rounded out the scoring for the tribe. Coach's critique: Today was definitely not our best outing. We struggled all day long to gain any momentum. The combination of poor play and a tough golf course made for a long day for us. However, as poorly as we played, we were still only 2 shots away from 2nd place. I believe that says something about our talent level. As a coach, you don't like these days but, during the length of an entire season, you know that you are going to have a couple of them. I am very proud of the composure that we showed today. I am confident that we will come back strong in our next outing. -Coach Burton Next match: ACHS Boys Golf team hosts Metcalfe County at The Pines at Lindsey Wilson 275 Country Club RD, Columbia, KY, Monday, August 29, 2011, with tee off time approximately 4pmCT.
