CLEVELAND, TN - The Lindsey Wilson College women's soccer team put on a clinic en route to its first win of the season on Sunday with a 5-1 win over SCAD-Savannah.

The No. 6-ranked Blue Raiders (1-0-1) wasted little time matching their entire game output from last week's tie with Spring Arbor as they scored 30 seconds into tonight's game to take a 1-0 lead.

Lindsey Wilson senior Ida Gregersen netted her first goal of the season - off freshman Malin Sjoback's assist - with an overlapping run through the SCAD-Savannah (1-1) defense to give the Blue Raiders the early lead.

Following the Lindsey Wilson lightning bolt in the game's first minute, play settled down over the next 30 minutes with few scoring chances. Lindsey Wilson finished the game owning a 7-2 shots on goal advantage.

Just like the beginning of the game, the Blue Raiders once again used outstanding passing to setup a pair of quick strikes to put the game out of reach in the first half.

In the 31st minute, freshman Therese Hagbyhn split the defense and scored her first career goal off an assist from sophomore Elizabet Madjarac to push the Lindsey Wilson lead to 2-0. One minute later, Gregersen headed in her second goal of the night off a cross from the right flank from Hagbyhn to give the Blue Raiders a 3-0 lead.

The Gregersen goal was her 32nd of her career which ranks 12th on the program's all-time goals scored list. Her next goal will move her into the program's top-10.

Lindsey Wilson took its 3-0 lead into the intermission in the neutral site battle.

Following the break, the Blue Raiders continued their scoring barrage with a goal in 66th minute. Freshman Laerke Lillelund Michaelsen gave the Blue Raiders a 4-0 lead with her second goal of the season off Madjarac's second assist of the night.

Junior Mia Persson added a fifth goal to the Lindsey Wilson total in the 75th minute off junior Hanna Jonsson's assists to give the Blue Raiders a 5-0 lead.

SCAD-Savannah avoided the shutout six minutes later as senior Meike Petri put in a rebound to end the night's scoring at 5-1.

Lindsey Wilson senior Jordan Morrison picked up the win between the pipes without allowing a goal and recording one save in 68 minutes of action. SCAD-Savannah's Ciara Thomas allowed all five goals while stopping two Lindsey Wilson shots. - Chris Wells http://www.lindseyathletics.com
