Manilla Smith Ellison passed away Saturday August 27, 2011 at the Liberty Care Center. She was 91.

Funeral services are 11amET/10amCT Monday August 29, 2011 at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home, 752 Campbellsville ST, Liberty, KY, with Bro. Greg Powell officiating. Burial will be at Glenwood Cemetery. Visitation is Sunday 6pm-9pmET/5pm-8pmCT, at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home.



Manilla Smith Ellison, Casey Co., KY (1920-2011)

She was born Friday, August 20, 1920 in Casey Co., KY. She was the daughter of the late John Jake and Mary Ellis Dick Smith. She died Saturday, August 27, 2011, in Liberty, Casey Co., KY, at the age of 91 years, 7 day.

She was a homemaker and member of the Mt. Olive Christian Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Delbert Ellison and by two daughters, Lena Watson and Nellie Martin.

Survivors include the following:
  • Two daughters, Dortha Huffaker of Edinburgh, IN; and Veola Lawson of Liberty, KY

  • Special grandson that she raised: David Lee Ellison

  • Thirteen grandchildren

  • Several great-grandchildren

  • Brother: Ancil Smith of Franklin, IN;

  • Three sisters: Marie Drostie , Ora Gadberry and Christine Hansford all of Liberty, KY.
In lieu of flower, donation may be given to the Liberty Care Center Activity Fund.
