Letter: Lindsey Wilson more like enriching legume

Growing like kudzu not an apt comparison, writer's message maintainsRichard Raines writes:
The main difference between a patch of land taken over by kudzu and Lindsey Wilson College is that the kudzu chokes out fields of grass, trees, etc. and kills it. Lindsey Wilson, on the other hand, while buying up neighboring property and using it or converting it to USE for the college, is actually acting more like a legume crop and helping fertilize its home area - bringing jobs to the natives and bringing in money thru the students it attracts from outside Adair County and staff (faculty and administrative/support) it attracts into our area -- they come here - they spend their money in our businesses - they help our local economy grow. It even helps the surrounding fields (counties) with money that people associated with the college spend in them!! - Richard Raines
