SCC Student ambassadors named for 2010-2011

Somerset Community College announces the Student Ambassadors for 2011-2012. The new Student Ambassadors are: Debbie Ard, Pulaski County; Sara Baird, McCreary County; Tammy Bowlin, Cumberland County; Larry Brinson, Pulaski County; Ariel Calahan, Pulaski County; Amber Cruey, Pulaski County; Haley Davis, Pulaski County; Tawana Eastridge, Taylor County; Kelli Edwards, Pulaski County; Chelsie Fitzpatrick, Pulaski County; Carla Gill, Jackson County; Melissa Keith, Adair County; Lauren Kirby, Laurel County; Gaspar Miguel, Pulaski County; Rudy Montalvo, Russell County; Lillie Josephine Morris, Wayne County; Laura Peterson, Casey County; Shelbie Russell, Pulaski County; Austin Thurman, Pulaski County; and Rebecca Thurman, Pulaski County.

The Student Ambassadors serve in a public relations capacity by representing Somerset Community College in a positive and professional manner at various campus and community events. They also conduct tours for individuals and groups, and help educate current and prospective students about programs, resources and student life at SCC.

In order to become an SCC Student Ambassador, the student must maintain a 3.0 grade point average and can be enrolled full-time or part-time. The student must possess a positive attitude and excellent communication skills, enjoy assisting others and working with individuals from diverse backgrounds, have the ability to speak in front of a group of people and have the flexibility to work some nights and weekends.
