LWC Men's Soccer 0pens 2011 Ranked No. 6 in NAIA Preseason Poll Season opener is Saturday, September 3, 2011, vs. Mid-Continent University of Mayfield, KY COLUMBIA, KY - The Lindsey Wilson College men's soccer team begins the 2011 season ranked No. 6 in the NAIA Men's Soccer Coaches' Preseason Top 25 Poll, released today by NAIA officials. The Blue Raiders received 475 voting points from the panel of national raters representing each conference, independent and unaffiliated groups. Defending national champion Hastings (Neb.) University sits atop the national poll with 591 voting points, including 20 of the 21 first-place votes. University of Mobile (Ala.) is No. 2 with 560 voting points followed by University of Rio Grande (Ohio) with 549 voting points, including the final first-place vote. Lindsey Wilson finished 2010 ranked No. 5 in the nation but was upset in the opening round of the national tournament in Columbia. The Blue Raiders season a year ago ended with a 15-4-1 record. With its national ranking, Lindsey Wilson enjoys the longest active streak of being ranked in the Top-25. The Blue Raiders have been ranked for 45 consecutive rating periods.
