Lindsey Wilson Women's Soccer Ranked No. 6 in NAIA Preseason Coaches' Poll

Blue Raider schedule includes six nationally ranked opponents

COLUMBIA, KY - The Lindsey Wilson College women's soccer team is ranked No. 6 in the NAIA Coaches' Preseason Top-25 Poll released today by NAIA officials.

The Blue Raiders received 430 voting points from the 19 raters that represent the conferences, independents and unaffiliated groups across the NAIA.



Lee (TN) University opens the season ranked No. 1 in the nation with 528 voting points, including 17 first-place votes. Azusa Pacific (CA) University is No. 2 in the poll with 498 voting points, including one first-place vote and Concordia (Ore.) University is third with 481 voting points and the final first-place vote.

Lindsey Wilson is coming off a 16-7 record in 2010. The Blue Raiders reached their 10th straight NAIA National Tournament a season ago before falling in the tournament's second round.

The national ranking marks the 113th consecutive appearance in the Top-25, the longest active streak in the NAIA.

Six teams on the Blue Raiders' 2011 schedule appear in the first poll of the season.

Lindsey Wilson plays at Lee on September 17 and hosts No. 8-ranked Indiana Wesleyan University on August 31 and No. 10-ranked Martin Methodist (TN) College on October 29, 2011. The Blue Raiders face No. 11-ranked William Carey (MS) College and No. 25 Auburn University Montgomery (AL) in September.

No. 19-ranked Spring Arbor (MI) University visits the Blue Raiders at 7pmCT on Saturday, August 20, 2011, in both teams' season-opener at Walter S. Reuling Stadium, 151 Holloway DR, Columbia, KY 42728.

The next national poll is scheduled to be released on September 6, 2011.
