Beginning Thursday, August 11 and ending Saturday August 13, Drum Corp International (DCI) will hold this season's final competitions at Lucas Oil Stadium, 500 S. Central AV, Indianapolis, IN.

One of Adair County's own, Chris Lloyd, is competing there as a member of the Madison Scouts Drum and Bugle Corp.

Chris, the son of Mary and Doyle Lloyd of Columbia, KY, has spent this summer traveling throughout the US with the Scouts corps which has performed in more than thirty events including competitions, parades and exhibitions in over twenty states.

The journey began in May when Chris traveled to Bloomington, Indiana following his summer term at Transylvania University to audition and take part in the Scouts' preseason camp.

It will end today, Saturday, August 13, 2011, with the DCI World Championship where the top twelve corps from prelims and semifinals will compete for the championship title.

The Madison Scouts ended their regular season competition with a ranking in the top ten.

Good luck to Chris and his Madison Scouts brothers in the DCI Championship competition. -Leslie Melton
