Salute to Dakota Meyer from Iran Hostage era vet Comments re article 46192 President Obama to Award Medal of Honor to Dakota Meyer September 15 2011 By Dean Roach Sgt. Meyers. I was raised in a military family. My father served during the Viet Nam era, I served during the Iran Hostage era. I literally lived in, on or around military forts and posts the first twenty-four years of my life. In that time I have only seen one MOH around a retired army pilot's neck. I, long out of the service, saluted him; he nodded back to me. Though I do not know you, I'm very proud of you, and all those who serve so bravely. You are one of Adair County's favorite sons. --Dean Roach This story was posted on 2011-08-13 04:09:00
