Flatwoods horseback rider says some ATVers leave trash behind

Trails could be closed to everyone because of misbehavior of a few, she says

Peg Schaeffer writes:
I live in the Flatwoods area and go horseback riding on the same trails the ATV riders use. I haven't had any problems with the drivers I meet on the trails. I stand my horse on the side of the trail and they drive quietly by. (My biggest problem is small children riding without helmets.) But I do have a problem with the trash they leave behind. The trails are beautiful and then there's an empty can they've tossed. If they had a recepticle that they carry their food and beverages in why can't the put the empties and trash back in it and discard it at home. If you don't respect the property owners these trails will be closed to everyone. - Peg Schaeffer
