The team competed in the Dale Hollow Invitational, which consists of 20 of the best teams in this part of the state. The team shot an outstanding score of 313 to capture 2nd place in the prestigious event. Van Giles led the tribe with a 75 which was good enough for 5th place out of the 110 golfers who competed. He was joined by Alex Durham's 78, Riley Grant's 79, and Daniel Rarey's 81. Jerrod Grider's 95 rounded out the scoring for the tribe. I am so proud of our kids. We played great and it feels great to get the season started off on such a good note. We beat some of the best teams that this part of the state has to offer. This was a good measuring stick for us. This tournament lets you know real quick how you stack up with the best, and I like our position. We would also like to congratulate Drake Duncan. He is the grandson of Richard Lee and Marsha Walker. Drake shot a 2-under par round of 70 for 2nd place overall. This story was posted on 2011-08-03 05:46:09
