Josie Akin Hall of Greensburg, Kentucky, daughter of the late William Henry and Hester Elizabeth Wright Akin, was born Monday, February 10, 1913 in Hart Co., KY, and departed this life on Monday, July 25, 2011 in Greensburg at the Golden Living Center-Green Hill. She was 98 years, five months and 15 days of age.

The funeral service for Josie Akin Hall will be conducted Wednesday, July 27, 2011 at 1pmCT at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home, 206 S. Main ST, Greensburg, KY, with burial to follow in the Aetna Grove Cemetery. Bro. Kelvin Edwards will be officiating.



Pallbearers: Phillip Moss, Keith Whitlow, Mike Wright, Kevin Wright, Brian Scott, and Travis Scott.

Josie Akin Hall of Greensburg, Kentucky, daughter of the late William Henry and Hester Elizabeth Wright Akin, was born Monday, February 10, 1913 in Hart Co., KY, and departed this life on Monday, July 25, 2011 in Greensburg, Green Co., KY at the age of 98 years, 5 months and 15 days of age.

She united in marriage to Chesley Hall on March 2, 1940, who preceded her in death on December 2, 2003.She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Aetna Grove Baptist Church and was a homemaker.Survivors include the following:
  • A niece and nephew: Betty and Chapman Moss of Summersville, KY

  • Two great-nephews: Keith Whitlow and Phillip Moss both of Summersville, KY

  • Two great-great nephews Cody and Nick Moss both of Summersville, KY

  • A great great niece: Bethany Whitlow of Green Co, KY

  • And a host of friends
Josie was also preceded in death by two sisters, Lachie Gardner and Faye Whitlow and two brothers, Marvin and Arthur Akin.

The Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home, 206 S. Main ST, Greensburg, KY in charge of arrangements.
