Family Resource and Youth Services Centers Celebrate 20 Years of Service to Adair County families.

Governor Steve Beshear has proclaimed July 18-22 as Family Resource and Youth Services Centers (FRYSC) Week in the Commonwealth and congratulates all FRYSC staff on 20 years of exceptional service to Kentucky's children and their families.

Family Resource Centers are part of the Adair County School system, and were established in 1992 as part of the sweeping Kentucky Education Reform Act (KERA) in 1990. While the school configurations have changed over the years, the three centers continue to provide valuable services to students and families.

Adair Elementary is staffed by Coordinator Debbie Cowan and assistant Angie Smith. Col. William Casey and John Adair is staffed by Coordinator Paula Garrison and assistant Angie Smith

Adair Middle and Adair High School is staffed by Coordinator Jaime White and assistant Debbie Dunn.

These school-based centers enhance students' abilities to succeed in school by developing and sustaining collaborative partnerships that meet basic needs and promote early learning and successful transition into school; academic achievement and well-being; and graduation and transition into adult life

Darrell Treece, Superintendent, said FRYSC's spotlight is on home, school, and community connections. "The staff at our three FRYSC offices regularly go above and beyond to meet the needs of their students and families." he said.
