Ruth Sallee, Taylor Co., KY (1917-2011)

She was a member of a large, highly regarded Taylor Co., KY, family. She leaves a great family, including 51 direct living descendants, to mourn her passing. She was a member of the Robinson Creek Baptist Church and a retired employee of Fruit of the Loom in Campbelllsville, KY

Ruth Sallee, 93, of Campbellsville, KY, died at 2pmET, Tuesday, July 12, 2011 in Bedford, IN.

Visitation is after 5pmET/4pmCT, Thursday, July 14, 2011 at the Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home, 418 Lebanon AV, Campbellsville, KY. The funeral service will be at 11amET/10amCT, Friday, July 15, 2011, at the Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home by Rev. Jim Collison. Burial will be in Robinson Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.



Pallbearers: Ivan Bault, Dan Blakeman, Freddie Cox, Carlie Franklin, Buddy Loy, Kenneth Sharp, Bill Skaggs, and Mike Sprowles.

Ruth Sallee, Taylor Co., KY (1917-2011)

Ruth Sallee was the daughter of the late Thomas Dix and Dora Rickel Dix. She was born October 26, 1917, in Marion Co., KY. She died Tuesday, July 12, 2011 in Bedford, Lawrence Co., IN at the age of 93 years, 8 months, and 16 days.

She professed faith in Christ and was a member of Robinson Creek Baptist Church.

She was a retired employee of Fruit of the Loom in Campbellsville.

She united in marriage to Arthur Sallee September 21, 1971. He preceded her in death June 16, 1975.

She is survived by the following:
  • Two daughters and one son: Dorene Dakin of Bedford, IN; and Mildred Comstock and husband Tom of Springhill, FL; and Robert Pace and wife Vinda of Brooksville, FL

  • Two step-sons and four step-daughters: William E. Sallee, Damon Sallee, Jewell Dean Cox, and Lora Mae Dudgeon of Campbellsville, KY; Mary Vance of Greensburg, KY; and Athol Milby of Summersville, KY

  • Twenty-one grandchildren

  • Twenty-seven great-grandchildren

  • Six great-great-grandchildren

  • Several step-grandchildren, step-great-grandchildren, and step-great-great-grandchildren

  • One brother: Delbert Dix and wife Christine of Campbellsville, KY

  • Sister-in-law: Mabel Dix of Campbellsville, KY

  • Several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends
She was preceded in death by three sons and two daughters: Darrell Pace, Terry Pace, Wesley Pace, Jr., Marsha Johnson and Robbie Jean Pace; two stepsons, Logan Sallee and Maurice Sallee; seven brothers and three sisters: Dean Dix, Paul Dix, Guy Dix, Aubrey Dix, Kenneth Dix, Edward Dix, Ernest Dix, Elizabeth Davis, Dorothy Dix, and Lyla Dix.

The Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home, 418 Lebanon AV, Campbellsville, KY in charge of arrangements.
