Pauline Hamlett Rogers, Adair Co., KY (1922-2011)

She was the honored matriarch of a large, highly-regarded Adair Co., KY family. She is remembered for her beauty, industry, warm personality, and friendly smile and for being an early advocate of walking for the sheer joy of it. She was a member of the Columbia Baptist Church and worked for Lowes Drug Store for many years.

Pauline Rogers, 89, of Columbia, died Monday, July 11, 2011 at 8:40amCT at Summit Manor Health and Rehab Center in Columbia, KY.

The funeral service will be Thursday, July 14, 2011 at 11amCT, at Grissom-Martin Funeral Home, 200 Campbellsville ST, Columbia, KY, with Pastor Jack Rogers officiating. Burial will be in Haven Hill Cemetery, 1276 Liberty RD, Columbia, KY. Burial will be in Haven Hill Cemetery, 1276 Liberty RD, Columbia, KY. Visitation is after 4pmCT, Wednesday, July 13, 2011 at the funeral home.



Casket Bearers: Todd Wilson, Tim Hardwick, Michael Rogers, Kyle Benningfield, Shamarie Clairborne,Ashley Hardwick, Bethany Bowman, and Tara Rice.

She was born Monday, June 19, 1922, in Adair Co., KY. She was the daughter of the late Porter and Leo Corbin Hamlett. She died Monday, June 11, 2011, in Columbia, Adair Co., KY, at the age of 89 years and 22 days.She was a member of the Columbia Baptist Church and was employed at Lowes Drug Store for many years.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, J.C. Rogers and a son, Jimmy Rogers.

Survivors include the following:

  • Three daughters and sons in law: Patricia and Jimmy Harper, Diane and Bob Benningfield, Jane and Curtis Hardwick all of Columbia, KY

  • One son and two daughters in law: Jackie and Chloie Rogers of Corbin, Reba Rogers of Columbia, KY

  • Two sisters: Norma Jean Parnell and Louise Hill both of Columbia, KY

  • One brother: Russell Hamlett of Shepherdsville, KY

  • Eight grandchildren: Shamarie Clairborne, Todd Wilson, Tara Rice, Bethany Bowman, Jack Rogers, Tim Hardwick, Ashley Hardwick, Michael Rogers

  • Three step grandchildren

  • Eleven great grandchildren

  • And four step great grandchildren
