Hazel Groce, 86, of Burkesville, KY, a resident of Cumberland Valley Manor, passed away Saturday, July 9, 2011, at Cumberland County Hospital in Burkesville, KY.

Funeral services will be on Tuesday, July 12, 2011, at 1pmCT, at Ballou and Stotts Funeral Home, 304 North Main Street, Burkesville, KY, with Dr. Mark Shelton officiating. Burial in the Burkesville Cemetery (MAP). Visitation will be 4pm-9pmCT, on Monday, July 11, 2011, at Ballou & Stotts Funeral Home, in Burkesville.

Hazel Groce, Cumberland Co., KY (1924-2011)

Hazel was born in Cumberland Co. KY on Thursday, August 7, 1924, to the late Lizzie Anderson Melton, and the late Roy P. Melton. She died Saturday, July 9, 2011, in Burkesville, Cumberland Co., KY, at the age of 86 years, 11 months, and 2 days.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, James Sanford Groce; two brothers, Irvin Melton and Kenneth Melton; and and one sister, Lois Melton.

Survivors include the following:
  • Two daughters: Kathy (David) Branham of Burkesville, KY; and Phyllis Hurt of Burkesville, KY

  • Two brothers, Elmer Melton of Pensacolo, FL; Roy (Patsy) Melton of Louisville, KY

  • One sister: Joyce (Johnny) Randall of Louisville, KY

  • Five grandchildren: Bryan Branham, Cory Branham, Kelly Branham, Kevin Branham, Michelle Hurt

  • Four great grandchildren: Macy Branham, Makala Branham, Michael Branham, Preston Branham

  • And a host of other relatives and friends
