James (Buddy) Bernard, Adair Co., KY native (1937-2011)

He was a member of a large, respected Adair Co., KY, family. He leaves 17 direct living descendants.

James "Buddy" Bernard, 74, formerly of Adair Co. KY, died Saturday, July 2, 2011 in Greenwood, IN.

Funeral service will be Tuesday, July 5, 2011 at 12pm noon CT, at Grissom-Martin Funeral Home , 200 Campbellsville ST, Columbia, KY, with Elder Rueal Boils officiating. Burial will be in Beulah Chapel Cemetery, next to Beulah Chapel Church, 4262 Liberty RD, Columbia, KY. Visitation will be after 5pmCT, Monday, July 4, 2011.



Casket Bearers: Tony Bernard, Skip Shaffer, Steve Franklin, Shane Milam, Herbie Turner, and Eric Morgan.

James (Buddy) Bernard, Adair Co., KY native (1937-2011).

He was born Thursday, February 12, 1937, in Adair Co. KY. He was the son of, the late Losier and Alva Keen Bernard. He died Saturday, July 2, 2011, in Greenwood, Johnson Co., IN, at the age of 74 years, 4 months, and 28 days.

Survivors include his wife , Margie Bernard of Indianapolis, IN, and the following:
  • Three daughters: Kathy Milam of Greenwood, IN; Bonnie Bernard of Indianapolis, IN; and Jamie Reece of Tennessee

  • Two sons: Jackie Bernard of Indianapolis, IN, and Richie Bernard of Columbia, KY

  • One brother: Billy Bernard of Columbia, KY

  • Three sisters: Betty Rogers of Columbia, Frances Freeman and Brenda Simpson both of Indianapolis

  • Eleven grandchildren

  • And one great grandchild
He was preceded in death by a son, Butch Bernard.
