Arvil Woodrum, Casey Co., KY (1926-2011)

He was the patriarch of a large, respected Casey Co., KY, family. He leaves 50 direct living descendants. He was an Army Veteran and will be accorded military honors by the Casey County Funeral Squad. He was a retired truck driver and a member of the Pine Grove Church.

Arvil Woodrum, passed away Monday, June 27, 2011 at Danville Centre for Health and Rehabilitation, Danville, KY. He was 84.

Funeral services will be at 11amET/10amCT, Thursday, June 30, 2011 at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home, 752 Campbellsville ST, Liberty, KY, with Bro. Jeff Edwards officiating. Burial will be at Whited Cemetery with military honors by the Casey County Funeral Squad.Visitation is 6pm-9pmET/5pm-8pmCT, Wednesday June 29, 2011, at the funeral home.



Pallbearers are Darold Wesley Girard, Brad and Brandon Luttrell, Chad Woodrum, and Eric and Derrick Fey.

He was born in Casey County, KY on August 22, 1926. He was the son of the late James and Bertha Rodgers Woodrum. He died Monday, June 27, 2011, in Danville, Boyle Co., KY, at the age of 84 years, 10 months, and 5 days.He was a Army veteran, retired truck driver and member of the Pine Grove Church.In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife , Mary Helen Clements Woodrum: a great-grandchild; two brothers, Amos and Merl Woodrum; and four sisters, Mammie Guffey, Lena Bell , Wanda Guffey and Joyce Woodrum.

Survivors include the following:
  • Three sons: Jim and (Kay) Woodrum of Georgetown, KY; Gary and (Lisa) Woodrum of Liberty, KY; and Larry and (Sharon) Woodrum of Ohio

  • Four daughters: Kathy Girard of Ohio, Connie Luttrell of Russell Springs, KY; Donna and (Randy) Fey of Ohio; and Janet and (Jerry) Jones of Ohio

  • Eighteen grandchildren

  • Twenty-four great-grandchildren

  • One great- great- grandchild

  • A brother: Frank Woodrum, of Lawrenceburg, KY

  • And sister: Verline Wallace of Newport, KY
McKinney-Brown Funeral Home, 752 Campbellsville ST, Liberty, KY in charge of arrangements.
