California reader takes issue with someone: being ran over A California/Kentucky reader in writes: After reading two (CM-area county) newspaper accounts of someone "being ran over," I can't take it anymore!!!You are mostly so right! Miss Willie and Mrs. Willis would be apoplectic. Something has got to be did.. After reading your letter I got so mad I taken and sent notification of the outrages to the CM prestigious panel of pretty good language experts, "Jim," BJ Fudge, and, of course, the esteemed Mr. Watson and await their input before doing anything which might incite or steer up some idjit who might take matters into their own hands. In the meantime, we do want to go on record as being adamantly opposed to your suggestion of multiple beheadings - and certainly not public ones, even for these mehainious crimes. That's not in our Quaker nature. We wonder if you would settle for maybe just a small, private decapitation of just one offender - just as an example to show we English majors mean businesss and won't be trifled with; that someone being ran over is a thing up with which we will not, we SHALL not, put! It does make my blood boil. I'm taking one of my nerve pills and the rest of the day off. I can't take it anymore (n)either. - EW This story was posted on 2011-06-24 03:59:29
