Von Price was not sent, but went to Brooks' office - BROOKS COOMER Homecoming Reunion June 17, 2011 - REUNIONS by Von Price OMG! I was always so scared of Mr. Coomer when I was in High School. I was never SENT to his office, but I paid him a visit one time! That was when I was a Junior in High School...Geraline Dykes and I got kicked off the school bus for 3 days..our OLD BUS broken down and in fact the engine caught on fire. Our bus driver Cosby Cundiff had to walk about mile and half to get to a phone (no cell phones then). So Geraline, and the rest of us on the bus decided we would write on the inside of the bus! Cosby's daughter was involved, but the reason we got kicked off was Mr. Cundiff's reason: Because we were the oldest ones on the bus and should have known better. Which we should have! So when we got to the school I went to Mr. Coomer's office and begged him to just give me some demerits, and my Dad would beat me to death when he found out...lol. Mr. Coomer said that was his decision and he couldn't do any thing about it. I can still see him looking at us and asking us, "Why in the world would you all do something like that?" I really wish that I could make the Reunion for him, but I have other commitments. I wish him well and I am sure that the same goes for the rest of the Class of 1964 --Von Price Comments re article 44993 Brooks Coomer and a life lesson This story was posted on 2011-06-16 11:19:13
