He was a member of a large, respected North Metcalfe Co., KY, family, a farmer, and a member of the Sulphur Well United Methodist Church

James Thomas Blaydes age 80 of Edmonton died Monday, June 13, 2011 at Metcalfe Health Care in Edmonton, KY.

Funeral services will be held 1pmCT, Saturday, June 18, 2011, at Butler Funeral Home, 201 E. Street, Edmonton, KY, with burial in the Maple Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be 3pm-8pmCT, Friday and after 9amCT, Saturday at the funeral home.

He was the son of the late John I. and Donie Dial Blaydes.

He was a farmer and member of the Sulphur Well United Methodist Church.

He is survived by the following, his wife Carolyn Sue Blaydes, and the following:
  • Four sons: Perry Blaydes of Campbellsville, KY; Jeff Blaydes of Glasgow, KY; David Blaydes of Bowling Green, KY; and Todd Blaydes of Center, KY

  • One daughter: Twanna Lee of Virginia

  • One sister: Barbara Henry of Louisville, KY

  • Nine grandchildren

  • Six great grandchildren
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by three children, Rita Faye Bilger, Garland and Donnie Blaydes; two brothers, and four sisters.

Butler Funeral Home, 201 East ST, Edmonton, KY, in charge of arrangements.
