Fatal crash takes life of 35 year old Edmonton, KY woman

Tragedy occurs on KY 63 in Monroe Co., KY, north of Tompkinsville, KY, near Mud Lick, KY

TOMPKINSVILLE, KY - Trooper Daniel Stephens is investigating a collision that occurred at 9:25pmCT, Saturday, June 11, 2011, on KY 63, 7 miles north of Tompkinsville. James Elmore, age 44 of Glasgow, was operating a 2001 Chevy Tahoe northbound on KY 63 when he lost control of the vehicle and struck two trees.



Elmore was transported to TJ Sampson Community Hospital in Glasgow and later to U of L. A passenger Angela Ervin age 35 of Edmonton was pronounced deceased at the scene. Neither occupant was wearing a seat belt.

Alcohol and drugs are believed to be a factor and charges are pending. Trooper Stephens was assisted at the scene by Sgt. Jeremy Johnson, Monroe County Sheriff's Department, Fire, Rescue and EMS.
