Guest commentary

Joe Johnson is the face I see when I think about Little League Baseball.

As a kid growing up my dad would always coach baseball and we would wait at the Fairgrounds for Joe to arrive.

It was always exciting when Joe would open the trunk of that old Ford LTD and that's where all the bats and balls and the bases were kept.

Great memories.

Joe Johnson is Little League Baseball around here and it should always be that way.

On a side note, we have had some calls on this and wanted to assure folks that the newly formed Parks and Recreation board has nothing to do with the naming or renaming of the Little League facility.

Thanks.
Mayor Mark D Harris
