First & Farmers donates $10,000 to LW Scholarship Fund Click on headline for story plus photo(s) By Duane Bonifer News from Lindsey Wilson College COLUMBIA, KY - First & Farmers National Bank of Columbia knows the value Lindsey Wilson College brings to Columbia-Adair County. That's why on Tuesday the bank contributed $10,000 to the Lindsey Wilson Fund. The donation will be used to provide scholarship aid for Columbia-Adair County residents to attend LWC. During the 2010-11 school year, more than 320 Adair County residents attended LWC. "First & Farmers is pleased to be a partner with Lindsey Wilson College, and we appreciate what the college means to the community," said First & Farmers National Bank President Ann Martin. "Lindsey Wilson helps this community grow and reach new heights." Martin knows the value of a Lindsey Wilson education. She is a 1975 graduate of the college, and her son Ross is a 2005 Lindsey Wilson graduate who is a dentist studying oral surgery at the University of Oklahoma. "It's simply amazing how much this college has grown over the years," Martin said. A big reason for Lindsey Wilson's growth is because of strong partners like First & Farmers, according to LWC President William T. Luckey Jr. "The reaoncollege has been able to accomplish so much over the last 20 years is because we are blessed with an incredibly supportive local community," Luckey said. "No institution has been more supportive of this college, its mission and its students than First & Farmers. Columbia-Adair County is a great place to live because of institutions such as First & Farmers." This story was posted on 2011-06-02 16:40:10
