Incident on Allen Schoolhouse RD: Vehicle vs. house

Gunfire involved. One arrested for DUI, other charges; other individual charged with wanton endangerment and other charges.

COLUMBIA, KY (2011-05-31. 09:23:00) - Adair County Deputy Sheriff Justin Claywell was called, at about 1amCT, this morning, Tuesday, May 31, 2011, to a vehicle accident - vehicle vs. house on Allen Schoolhouse Road, about 12 miles east of Columbia in the Putman Co area of District 1, Adair Co. KY.

Upon arrival Claywell determined that there had been an altercationbetween Jose Miguel Delgado Arellano and Martin Medrano.



Claywell determined that Arellano had intentionally rammed hisvehicle into the house and then intentionally rammed another vehiclein the driveway which was occupied by Medrano and three children.

At some point in the incident, Medrano fired shots into Arellano'svehicle striking Arellano, according to Deputy Claywell.

Arellano was treated and released at Westlake Regional Hospital Emergency Room in Columbia, KY.

Arellano was arrested and charged with operating amotor vehicle under the influence of alcohol or drugs (aggravatedcircumstances), no operator's license, and wanton endangerment.

Medrano was also arrested and charged with assault.
