Marilyn Dudley Sparks, Adair Co., KY (1947-2011)

She was a highly regarded Columbia education and civic leader. She was a former Vice-President of Lindsey Wilson College, a former psychiatric counselor, a former teacher and Past President of the Columbia/Adair County Chamber of Commerce and was active and interested in the betterment of Columbia.

Marilyn Dudley Sparks age 63 years of Breeding, KY passed away Monday, May 23, 2011 at 1:30amCT at the Westlake Regional Hospital in Columbia, KY, after several years illness.

A Memorial service will be Thursday, May 26, 2011 at 2pmCT at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, 210 Greensburg ST, Columbia, KY, with Dr. Jerry Oakley the officiating clergy. Private interment will be in the Fudge Cemetery, 847 Independence Breeding, KY. The family has chosen cremation.Visitation will begin at 10amCT, Thursday morning, May 26, 2011, at the funeral home.

She was born August 14, 1947 in Louisville, KY. She was the daughter of the late: Joe Allen and Lula Yates Nell Dudley of Adair Co., KY. She died Monday, May 23, 2011, in Columbia, Adair Co., KY, at the age of 63 years, 9 months, and 9 days.

She was a former Vice-President of Lindsey Wilson College, a former psychiatric counselor, a former teacher and Past President of the Columbia/Adair County Chamber of Commerce and was active and interested in the betterment of Columbia.

She is survived by her husband, Joseph E. Sparks of Breeding, KY andseveral cousins and friends.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of a donation in memory of Marilyn Sparks to Lindsey Wilson College 210 Lindsey Wilson Street, Columbia, KY 42728Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
