Giant Oak at Charity Baptist Church is gone Click on headline for item plus photo(s) A giant oak which has been like a stalwart, reassuring old friend to long time members of the Jericho Community, Green River Lake visitors, and especially to the members of the Charity Baptist Church, where it stood, was felled by wind Sunday, May 22, 2011. For a brief time the tree blocked traffic on Holmes Bend Road. Charity Baptist Church member George Rice recorded scenes from clean up by Kentucky Highway Department crew members, the Adair County Search and Rescue Team, and volunteers, whose work quickly restored passage.
