One juvenile injured in Washington Co., KY accident

Van with 16 year old operator leaves roadway, comes to rest in creekbed

SPRINGFIELD, KY (2011-05-21) - Trooper Fred Cornett is investigating a collision that occurred at 6:25amCT, 3 miles West of Willisburg, KY. A 1999 Chevrolet Van was traveling Westbound on Hardesty Road when the vehicle dropped off the left side of the roadway, traveled down an embankment, overturned, and came to a rest in a creek.

A 16 year old operator and three other juvenile passengers were in the vehicle. The operator and two passengers were not injured and were wearing their seat belts. A third passenger who was not wearing a seat belt was transported by private vehicle to Flaget Hospital in Bardstown, KY where he was treated and released. Trooper Cornett was assisted at the scene by Washington County EMS and Willisburg Fire Department.
